How Can severe Vomiting Along With Diarrhoea Be Treated?

I was ill with vomiting and watery diarrhea on Monday night thru mid-day Tuesday. For the next few days I continued with diarrhea, but the vomiting stopped. My question is the bowel movements then and since have resulted in yellow feces. What would cause this?

Infectious Diseases Specialist 's  Response
Hello! I have been through your question.
Related your concern I think is a gastroenteritis (viral or bacterial).
Usually a viral gastroenteritis is caused by noroviruses and rotaviruses. Bacterial gastroenteritis is caused by E.coli, yersinia, staphylococcus, shigella, salmonella.
Furthermore in this situation I suggest to do a physical examination by an Infectious diseases specialist and to CBC,do stool culture, stool test for parasites, azotemia /creatinemia,electrolytes, abdominal ultrasound, monitoring diuresis in order to define better the diagnosis and to start a prompt treatment ( usually I prescribe ciprofloxacin in bacterial gastroenteritis).
During this time you should drink a lot of water and natural tea, tresol, and take probiotics.
You should eat toasted bread with cheese, banana, yogurt and should avoid eating dairy, fruit, or high-fiber foods.
I hope my answer helps you.
I wish you a quick recovery.
Regards.
